Dear friends,

We thrilled to report that we have received the green light from the county which allows us to reopen.  YAY!

The beach will open on Friday, June 19th and the campground and cabins will open on Friday, June 26th.

Big changes are coming to the beach this summer.   Advance reservations will be required for all guests.  Reservations need to be made online via our website at www.johnsonsbeach.com/beach.  Guests will be able to make reservations for the beach starting on Monday, June 15th.  Guests will be able to reserve a socially distanced ‘spot’ on the beach, complete with an umbrella.  Guests will also be able to reserve boats, parking, and other items.

These changes are needed to meet the requirements set forth by the County to allow us to reopen.  They will also ensure the health and safety of our staff and our guests by allowing us to implement a contactless check-in.

Please visit our website to learn more about these changes.

Dear friends,

Thank you for your continued support of Johnson’s Beach!!! We appreciate it.

We have been working closely with our County partners to determine when we will be able to reopen and how to do so safely. Unfortunately, our reopening timelines were initially too optimistic.

As a result, we have temporarily stopped accepting reservations for accommodations. As soon as we know more about a reopen date, we will let you know via this page and on social media. At the same time, we will open our reservation system for accommodations. If you have an upcoming booking with us, we will be in touch with you two weeks before your visit to review your options.

Additionally, the beach remains closed.  For the same reason, we are not ready to accept online bookings for boat rentals or spots on the beach. When we do start taking reservations for the Beach, priority access will go to our overnight guests—more on this in an upcoming update.

Visitors who wish to launch a kayak or otherwise access the river can walk through the right gate controlled by the Russian River Parks and Recreation Department, directly straight to the river for access.

Stay safe. Stay Healthy.

Dear friends,

We have held back from posting any details about how Covid-19 will impact our operations during the 2020 summer season because we do not know what business activities will be permitted by the County.

What we do know is that our accommodations are currently on lock-down. We do not have a date when we will be permitted to host overnight guests (in our cabins or our campground). We are currently looking at early June for camping with cabins to follow at some later date.   If you have a booking with us for a stay before June 1, please email us at info@johnsonsbeach.com to discuss your options.

At this time, we can also share that our beach operation will be significantly scaled back this summer. We must do this to avoid attracting too large a crowd. When permitted, we will pivot to a reservation-only system. Guests who wish to visit the beach will need to visit our website to reserve a boat, an umbrella or chairs, or a parking spot. Each of these items will be limited to the number of guests that we are permitted to have. Walk-ins will not be allowed. Only those with a valid same-day reservation will be permitted access.  More information will be shared on this new model shortly.

We understand that these changes will impact your travel and summer vacation plans. Public Health and Safety for our guests and staff is our number one priority, and we will resume operations once we are confident that we can operate under the ‘new normal’ that is Covid-19.

As new details emerge about operation type and timing, we will update this section of our website.

Stay safe. Stay Healthy.
